Salut!
So there's this giant building in Paris with what appears to be a glass roof, and I had some free time yesterday, so I decided to finally figure out what it is. It turns out to be
le Grand Palais, built for the 1900 World's Fair in Paris, which is now an art museum. There was a bit of a line to get in, so I decided to check out
le Petit Palais across the street, instead.
Le Petit Palais (the Little Palace) was also built for the 1900 World's Fair, and it is also currently an art museum. They had a neat collection of a lot of really gorgeous glass vases, as well as some Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings. Or at least, that's the part of the collection I had the time to see yesterday! The building itself is also gorgeous--marble, big dome, frescoes on the ceiling--in short, the usual for Paris!

This is what you see if you look up when you enter le Petit Palais. |
